Join my Barefoot Books team! (FREE to join)
[info]booksbybarefoot
Ok, I'm going to be up front and say that I'm trying to win a work contest by getting the most new team members.

Having said that, I stand behind the company Barefoot Books. I've been working with Barefoot for 3 yrs and it's the best company I've worked for! The books are fabulous (meaningful content, fun, beautifully illustrated) and the fact that you can also order gifts is a huge plus.

Whether you just want a discount on products for your own family or you want to earn good money as your own business, you should join my team!

It's absolutely free to join. You even get your own FREE Barefoot Marketplace (website) for your customers to order from you.

This business is what you want to make of it. If you just want to run your business by getting people to order from your website, that is fine. If you want to do small events with just a handful of books for display (and take orders there), that's fine. If you want to go big and place fundraiser/bulk orders and do large events (school fundraisers, Conventions, other Fundraisers, Farmers Markets, etc) then that is fine, too!
It's completely up to you.

Learn more about being a Barefoot Ambassador by clicking on the orange square below.
I'd love to have you on my team! Once you join my team, I'll be available to help you along the way via email, phone, or even in person if you are local to me!

If you send me an email, please note that I will be attending a Barefoot conference this weekend. I'll be staying at a B&B (which I won from a different Barefoot contest!)

Hope to hear from you soon!

In a years time
[info]booksbybarefoot

I'd like to look like this again.
I'm sure it will take at least a year as I will need to lose 92 lbs. Yes, 92. It scares me, all the work that will need to be done. I would love to somehow get a membership to a nice health club. I say nice because I'm honest about what motivates me. If a health club/gym is dumpy or plain, I'm not going to want to go (been there, done that.) Trouble is, I can't afford a membership even at the YMCA. Not sure what to do about that.

A friend of mine lost a LOT of weight in one's year time. She looks incredible and she has inspired me. It doesn't matter how we get there, as long as we get there (in a healthy way, of course.)

I'm always up for tips and encouragement from those who have lost a lot of weight. Feel free to leave me a comment!

Oh, and I'm going to get over my embarrassment and will post a pic of me now. I want to post pics of me along this process.

Fundraiser for my Mom!
[info]booksbybarefoot

Some of you have read about my mom's ordeal. She has lost ALL of her furniture and housewares, and her car in a cross country move.

She was moving to be close to her family (and only grandchild.)

I'm setting up a fundraiser for my mom and am accepting paypal donations of any amount.
I'm hoping to raise enough to buy her some furniture.

My paypal address is: lizcioci@yahoo.com
Any donation amount is appreciated!

If you are local, I'll also accept cash (or giftcards to Ikea.)

I'm also having a fundraiser through my website. Any order you place will help us get closer to replacing some housewares/furniture for her.
Just click the Fundraiser button and place an order! You'll be getting great books/gifts for your child while also helping my a loving mom/grandmother!

Diagnosis week UPDATE
[info]booksbybarefoot
August 9th is when I get the official (new) diagnosis for my son. I've had to wait weeks for these results. Waiting is not easy, especially when you're not a patient person to begin with.

They don't give the results over the phone, I have to go to Providence for a 'Feedback' meeting with the NeuroPsych. Not supposed to bring Roo into the actual office though so my mom is going to watch him in the waiting room/play area. Phew!

I'm hoping that the whole evaluation process was worth it. I hope the doctor will tell me something useful. I hope that her written recommendations are powerful enough to actually make a difference with Roo's school. The NeuroPsych did say that she can come to the IEP meeting/team mtg before school starts. That will be a huge help (and a big expense, but it's worth it.)

3 Day for a Cure
[info]booksbybarefoot
My friend is walking in the 3 Day for a Cure. 60 miles in 3 days. She has trained for this for months.
Joanne lost her mom to breast cancer.

Cancer sucks.
I saw so many people today without hair. These women and men are fighting for their lives.
My dad lost his fight a couple years ago.

I thank Joanne and all the other walkers.

Here's the link to make a donation via Joanne: https://secure3.convio.net/npt/site/Donation2?idb=1917513817&df_id=2280&FR_ID=1462&2280.donation=form1&PROXY_ID=4914574&PROXY_TYPE=20

UPDATE: Joanne completed the walk! Well done, Joanne!! You rock!

The Flavor of Life
[info]booksbybarefoot
Tomorrow is another day. That's what they say. What they don't say is that the new days aren't any better.
Different, yes. Better, no. Yes, one can argue that at least you have days... It's better than the alternative. I say that's a bit simplistic for every day life.

The flavor of life goes like this: I'm hanging around a cafe, longing for something that I've yet to put into words. I mutter under my breath that what I'd really like is just a cup of whipped cream and forget about the coffee. With a flurry of activity, that cup of whipped cream appears on the counter. The barista stands there smiling. "It's on the house" he says.
I'm impressed for a moment. Then, I say "Ok, now I'd like a million dollars". The barista says "Too late. You should have asked for that to begin with."

There you have it. The story of my life. Always one step behind. But at least I can enjoy some creamy whipped goodness along the way.
